Anne was raised in Kentucky but has lived in Johnson County for nearly 40 years. During that time, she was a principal in the Clark Pleasant School Corporation, first, at Clark Elementary where she was recognized as Indiana’s Principal of the Year and later, as a National Distinguished Principal. After assignments that included the Clark Pleasant Middle School, Anne created and directed Johnson County’s first alternative school which had the goal of inviting high school dropouts back to school to earn their high school diplomas. With a graduation rate of 98%, the Academy was named one of the top three drop out prevention programs in the nation.

Anne is married, and she and her husband, Steve, are owners of Cardinal Point Farm where they host individuals and groups who want to learn about raising their own food as well as a sustainable lifestyle.

After retirement, Anne has been involved in the following community activities:

  • 100 Women Who Care (Charter Member)
  • Women’s Leadership Team, Mount Peasant Christian Church
  • Judge 4-H projects at Johnson County Fair
  • Speaker, Johnson County Library, topics such as gardening, wildlife, landscaping
  • Member, Trafalgar and Johnson County Garden Club
  • Johnson County Community Foundation: Circle of Friends, Legacy Society
  • Prior to retirement:
  • Chairperson and member of the board, JCCF
  • Franklin College Educational Advisory Board
  • Johnson County Library Board
  • 4-H Board
  • Community Corrections Board
  • Riley Hospital, Educational Advisory Board
