Stories of Connection – The Daniel Mercer Family Fund

Published: August 31, 2013 by Johnson County Community Foundation

Daniel Mercer
The Daniel Mercer Family Fund, in collaboration with JCCF, creates and supports worthwhile activities for central Indiana youth.

This fund was established by Jeff and Pam Mercer in honor and in memory of their son, Daniel. Daniel was a star athlete and National Honor Society student at Franklin Community High School. More importantly however, he was a wonderful son, terrific brother, friend, and an incredible role model for all who knew him.

On May 29, 2006 Daniel lost his battle with cancer. However, the war he waged on the hearts of his family, friends and community will last for generations. His faith, selflessness and courage have provided the impetus for countless small victories that live deep in the soul of each of those he touched.

Each year, Daniel’s family and friends organize a golf outing to assist in funding, among other things, the Daniel Mercer Set a Good Example awards at Franklin’s middle and high schools, an Indiana Bulls scholarship and Scott Rolen’s Camp Emma Lou.

For infomation on the annual golf outing, call 812-824-5397.
