Recurring donations make yearlong giving bite-sized

Published: December 18, 2015 by Johnson County Community Foundation

If you want to make a $120 donation, and your wallet says that’s too much at once, we have an idea. Supporters are enjoying the convenience of a recurring donation program through their banks.

So if that $120 bar would be more palatable in 12 easy $10 monthly bite-size pieces, consider working this into the online banking payment system you already use for monthly bills. If you aren’t set up to pay your bills online, check with your bank and learn how easy it is to plan payments monthly.

JCCF donor Don Cummings uses this method to support the causes he cares about.

“Using my own online banking recurring payment function for donations has multiple benefits. Convenient: I set it up once, and forget it. Financial: I give small donations from my account on each of my paydays, enabling me in total, to make a large donation with no financial pain in any given month. Flexible: For a special campaign, I can set up a donation for a limited number of months that expires when my pledge is complete,” said Cummings.

Donations may qualify for a match. No amount is too small. Every dollar counts!
