Stories of Connection: Dr. Jill Buck Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2015 by Dr. Jill Buck’s partners at South Grove Eye Care, PC, the Dr. Jill Buck Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Dr. Jill Buck, a beloved mother and optometrist in the Greenwood community who was known for her great spirit.
“Jill was a great mother, wife, optometrist and friend to all of us at South Grove Eye Care. We feel her loss greatly,” said Dr. Abbey Hoffman.
“She had a wonderful, fun and giving spirit that was apparent to everyone who knew her, including her patients. Her infectious laugh is one of the things we miss the most. She truly felt optometry was a calling, and she used it to really help people.
“We hope this scholarship will be used to aid students with a similar calling to Dr. Buck. In this way, Dr. Buck and her memory will never stop taking care of others,” said Hoffman.
The scholarship will be awarded to Johnson County high school seniors pursuing careers in a medical profession.
