JCCF Announces Color the County Mural Winner and 2024 Community Painting Day

Published: June 20, 2024

Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) is happy to announce Mandy Freshour’s design as the winner for the next Color the County mural on Tom’s Barbershop in Greenwood. JCCF invites the public to Community Painting Day on July 20, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

JCCF’s goal is to spread public art around the community by the implementation of murals. The Color the County Mural Program joins artists and communities through the collaborative process of mural making to create powerful artworks that can transform public spaces, neighborhood identities and individual lives. All are welcome to participate. No experience necessary. All paint and supplies will be provided.

Mandy Freshour is a freelance graphic designer and homeschool mom who has called Johnson County home for over 20 years. She enjoys all sorts of creative pursuits but this is her first mural. Inspired by a summer evening and the Indiana state insect, a scene of glowing lightening bugs and blowing dandelions was chosen.
