Two students will receive a four-year, full-tuition scholarship as the Johnson County Community Foundation 2016 Lilly Endowment Community Scholars.

Sneha Dave and Christina Randall will receive full tuition to the Indiana college or university of their choice and a $900 yearly stipend for required books and equipment.

Dave is the daughter of Sachin and Seema Dave of Greenwood. She attended Center Grove High School and is planning to attend Indiana University this fall to study Public Health. Dave has participated in establishing the Crohn’s and Colitis Teen Times, been an active US news and World News blogger, and President of the CGHS Dance Marathon. While at Indiana University Dave plans to study abroad and get involved in a myriad of different clubs and volunteer organizations.

Randall is the daughter of John and Mercedes Randall of Greenwood. She also attended Center Grove High School and is planning on attending Indiana University in the fall. Randall intends to major in Economics and Public Policy while at Indiana University. In high school Randall participated in basketball, weightlifting, running, Model United Nations, and Student Government. She plans to participate in club basketball, Model United Nations, Student Government, micro finance initiatives, and service clubs while at Indiana University.

This is the 19th year that the Johnson County Community Foundation has administered the program. Applicants were selected based on volunteer community service, academic preparation and performance, leadership, and good character.

Each year, the 12 member scholarship committee puts a great deal of time and thought into selecting these scholars. After the Johnson County Community Foundation scholarship committee narrowed the field to the final nominees, the finalists’ names were submitted to Independent Colleges of Indiana, Inc. (ICI) for the final approval of the nominees.

ICI is a nonprofit corporation that represents 31 regionally accredited degree granting, nonprofit, private colleges and universities in the state.

The scholarships are the result of a statewide Lilly Endowment initiative to help Hoosier students reach higher levels of education.

The Johnson County Community Foundation is a nonprofit public charity established in 1991 to serve donors, award grants and provide leadership to improve Johnson County forever. For more information, call JCCF at 317-738-2213 or visit our website at www.jccf.org.
