President's Post: The future is bright

Published: April 1, 2022 by Gail Richards, president & CEO

JCCF’s 30th Anniversary is in the books and it was a highly successful year thanks to the staff team, board and countless other volunteers. In addition, donors who care deeply about the community added contributions that saw JCCF’s ending asset balance at over $40 million for the first time in history (some credit must also be given to the +12.77% rate of return from the stock market). Needless to say, JCCF is well positioned to assist Johnson County for another 30+ years.

A special thank you goes to the JCCF staff team – Stephanie Fox, Kim Kasting, Greg Pryor, Thelma Slisher and Stephanie Wagner. Even amidst the continuing pandemic, that amazing group managed to organize and professionally execute, special events, including two new ones, a new workforce development program, policy changes, national foundation reaccreditation, Lilly Endowment Inc. GIFT VII grant reports and added significant financial resources for the community.

Additionally, under the leadership of the JCCF Board of Directors, a new strategic plan was adopted for the future. This plan includes new development, marketing and financial directions that will help JCCF move the needle to $50+ million in total assets which translates into significant additional financial support for programs in the area.

All-in-all 2021 was an amazing year and the 30th Anniversary celebration was just the kick-off to many more. A big thank you goes to everyone who helped make 2021 fantastic!

The future is bright
