Stories of Connection – Mallow Run Winery

Published: June 30, 2013 by Johnson County Community Foundation

The Mallow Run Winery Charitable Fund was established in 2012 by the Richardson family to support area nonprofits and their programs in the community.
“We are so thankful for the ongoing support of our customers, and it is an honor and a privilege to find small ways to give back to the community that supports us,” said Laura Richardson, Mallow Run co-owner.

Mallow Run gives back by donating space for local charity gatherings and fundraisers, donating to silent auctions throughout the year, hosting special events benefiting a specific cause and producing specialty wines in which a portion of sales proceeds are donated to an organization.

For example, Mallow Run hosts the Carmel Symphony Orchestra each summer with proceeds benefiting a different charity each year.

Their annual run/walk, “Wine at the Line,” is held in October and will benefit the Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Mallow Run Winery is the product of years of hard work by John Richardson and his son, Bill, and Bill’s wife Laura.
