Johnson County application for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship now open

The Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) is pleased to announce the opening of the 2021 Johnson County application for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. Three Johnson County high school seniors will be nominated to receive this award which pays full-tuition to the Indiana college or university of their choice and a $900 yearly stipend for required books and equipment.
“Receiving the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is an immense honor for the students who are selected.” said Stephanie Fox, program officer for grants and scholarships at JCCF.
Online applications for the 2021 Lilly Scholarship opened on July 16, 2020 and will be due by 5:00pm August 19, 2020.
JCCF has administered the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship program locally for 24 years. Applicants are selected based on volunteer community service, academic preparation and performance, leadership and good character.
The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program, administered statewide by Independent Colleges of Indiana, is the result of a Lilly Endowment initiative to:
1) to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana; 2) to increase awareness of the beneficial roles Indiana community foundations can play in their communities; and 3) to encourage and support the efforts of current and past Lilly Endowment Community Scholars to engage with each other and with Indiana business, governmental, educational, nonprofit and civic leaders to improve the quality of life in Indiana generally and in local communities throughout the state.
